Another First Day
I know, I said last week that it was the last first day of school. Today is the first day of track try-outs for Dingy. She may try a little harder because her friend is trying out and they have no classes together. Not even lunch. So if they both make the team, they'll actually get to see each other everyday. I have to pick her up after try-outs and then after practices (hopefully). Her school is 1.4 miles away from our house. I wonder if she would get mad at me if walk down to pick her up. Would that be wrong to make her walk 1.4 miles after having run track for an hour or so?

absolutely not. she may hate you for it at first but in the long run she will be thankful cause the 1.4 mile walk will be her cool down and her muscles won't ache that much.
The other problem.....Can *I* make the 2.8 miles without dying?! If I l eave early enough, I can rest a little and have two 1.4 walks instead of one big 2.8......hmm....
absolutely. You may hate yourself in the beginning but you may find yourself jogging to pick her up in a month or so. I wish I lived somewhere where I only lived 1.4 miles from civilization instead of being scared of being killed by a car or some freak strung out on heroin. The country used to be so nice and peaceful now it's full of freaks and murderers.
I hope she makes it! If she runs as fast as she can I'm sure she will. Bill was amazed at how fast she could run.
Aunt Una...so you fit right in with the freaks? :) Part of the problem here is too much civilization. I have to cross a four lane road. I can assure you, I will NEVER be jogging it! I think I am going to attempt it tomorrow, though.
I told her, if she TRIES she WILL make the team. And being the second year at the school, she knows more of the girls and may feel more comfartable.
Well....more freaker then me they are.
She WILL make the team especially if her friend who she doesn't get to see is going to make it. She just needs confidence and will power.
I have all confidence in her that she will do good!!
She said she tried. First cuts are tomorrow already. It sounds like her and her friend were both towards the front of the pack. Dingy just isn't competitive. She doesn't care if she loses or not. I've been trying to teach her that it's nice to have fun...but play to WIN! Winning is MORE fun!
