After the Sleepover

Well, our big sleepover has come and gone; leaving in it's wake a tired Mommy, a quiet Dingy, and a missing Dippy. Adam's Mom stopped by earlier to pick him up and we made plans to meet their family for dinner at the Buffet. Somehow over dinner, plans were made for Dippy to head to Adam's house tonight! He just left a few minutes ago. Dingy has been on the couch back in her jammies since we got home from lunch. She only changed long enough to go eat dinner! I have a crapload of snack foods left, too! We barely touched the cake, and only opened one bag of chips! They did scarf down the cinnamon roll bites I made for breakfast though! I made two cans and I'm not sure that any made it through the day.

Hopefully the kids all had fun. I didn't get many pictures. I do have a nice one of the girls with the one facial mask. It's funny and scary at the same time. I asked them if I could post it and neither one said yes. (They didn't say no, either...)

I'm off to take a nap!

Sleepover Night!!

Tonight's our sleepover!!! Dingy specifically asked me for facial stuff for tonight. So I got them some facial stuff, some foot spa stuff, and really cute little fingernail polishes and lipglosses. I hope that's what she was wanting! We're also stocked up on chips and sundae makings. I just need to run through the house one more time with a mop and I think we'll be all ready for the kids!

Although, I was going through my wedding album to find this picture (the only place to find a picture of them together is in the wedding albums!) and I found another very dorky picture of Bill. I debated using it here so we could just point and laugh at him today, but I decided a picture of Mom and Dad would be a slight bit nicer. (We'll use the one of Bill on a slow blog day.)

Well, most of the family. The picture is a year or two old, so we're missing Goofy. And Rod. (He was on a fishing trip when we did this.) Anyway, we can't have a picture of Mom on here. Road Trip!!!

We went on a road trip today!! YAY!! We LOVE road trips!! OK. The boys and I love road trips. Dingy tolerates them. We saw lots of cool stuff. And Dingy learned that Delaware is NOT in Michigan! (don't ask.)

We even saw a glacier! OK. It wasn't that cold. But this was still cool.

We saw license plates from a LOT of states, too. So it was basically a good day. Not even too much fighting from the backseats, either. But we do have a holy crap moment. The reason for our little trip today was to look at a new family car. We would like the kids to have a little more leg room as they insist on continually growing!! When we first got married, we had this nice little sporty car. Pretty cool, huh? Not much leg room in the back for kids. Although, Dingy did ride back there for a year or so.

And here is my holy crap moment of the day. We bought this today!

How in the world did we go from the nice little sports car to THIS??? This being a grown up thing is for the birds!!

But it is pretty awesome inside! I'll show more picture after we pick it up later this week. I didn't want to be snapping pictures all through it with the guy watching me. We'll also have to lay some bets on how soon we think I will drive it. We're keeping my mini van for my normal little grocery trips and running to the bank and post office and all that. We're planning on using this monster for road trips and when we have extra kids (Sorry, Cassie, I think Rod is taking it this weekend, though, so I won't be able to travel you in it yet--but soon!) I did drive it a little in an empty parking lot. I managed to park between the lines. But I think I would have hit at least 3 cars when I backed out! (Note to self--park where you can pull through to get out!)

Oh, and Grandma, Dingy said NOW, she'll like to visit Grandma. I think there's an insult in there somewhere.

Guess what this is a picture of. Did you guess? And you can't go for the obvious of two kids sleeping. We're looking closer at Dippy. Did you guess again?

Ok. I'll tell you. This is a picture of Mommy winning a $20 bet!! Dippy went to a Boy Scout event last night. They left the church at 8:00 last night and got back around 9:30 this morning. They went to a rock wall climbing place and had a lock in. It sounds like they all had a good time, too. But earlier in the week, Dippy brought home a paper saying there was a Spring Fling dance at his school today. It is at 2. So I told him that I thought he would have time to come home from rock climbing, take a nap, and still get to the dance. He said he wouldn't be taking a nap. I told him that if he was staying up all night Friday night, I bet $20 he'd be sleeping during the day on Saturday. All week, he's been saying he's going to win the $20. I think he lost. AND, he's missing his dance! After we picked him up, we went out to breakfast and then out to Manassas to look at a van. He fell asleep a little bit on the way out, but he fell asleep HARD on the way home. I can't get him out of the van!! When we first got home, we just thought he would get out. We waited about a half hour, and it was time for him to go to the dance, and I can't get him out. That kid is the hardest person EVER to wake up. (Yes, even harder than Granny!!) I got him up a little and unbuckled, and he tried to open his door but it was locked, and I said come out this side, but he curled up on the seat and went back to sleep! I hope he's not too disappointed that he missed the dance.

Happy Anniversary

to us! Let's see if I can sum up this marriage. All this week, I have been thinking that this is our 17th anniversary. Then Rod asked me on Thursday, "Is tomorrow our 19th anniversary?" So I do the math, and say, "NO! it's our 16th!" We must have had some looooong years in there!

We went out for lunch after Goofy got out of preschool today. He was helping Rod eat his soup.

What the Heck????

I wanted to do an anniversary post today. I was waiting so that Natasha's birthday post would get read first. So, I'm looking for a picture to put with our post. I thought I might have something in my scanned photos. But instead of a nice picture, I open the files and I find THIS!!

What the heck is this?? SOMEONE scanned their HAND! I guess I should be happy that it was just a hand...but WHO?? And WHY?? I've been staring at this. I'm thinking Dippy just might be the guilty party here. If that's the case...we're skipping the Why? I just don't want to know.

More Random Ramblings

Last night, Rod was trying to find a set of keys that he lost. I searched through jacket pockets for him. I didn't find the keys, but I found $5!! Of course, I had to hand it over to Dingy this morning so that she could eat lunch today. But for a night I had extra money.

I think Goofy likes to mess with Dingy. When I do laundry, he puts away everyone's socks for me. He puts Rod's either in the right drawer or on our bed. He puts his own on his bed. He puts Dippy's on his (Goofy's) bed. But Dippy has the top bunk, so he can't really reach it to put the socks there. But Dingy's....he doesn't put them on her bed. He doesn't put them on her desk. He puts them in her clothes hamper! I think he is hiding them from her!

Dingy saw this at the train show yesterday. She said that if her Dad lived inside the train set, this is where he would be.

Train Show

I finally made it over to the train show. We were going to look around on Saturday, but I got a call from one of the Dad's asking if I was on my way cause Dippy said he was sick and he wasn't looking good. I was already in the parking lot, so I just took Dippy and went home without seeing anything. He felt better enough today to go over and show us around and work his shift. (Although, he is still going to the doctor's tomorrow.) I even got a few pictures while I was there today.

There's Dippy after he started working. (I didn't want to be 'that Mom' that takes pictures of everything her kid does, so I sat the camera on the table and very discreetly touched the button.)

I Just Realized....

....how pathetic my life is. I was watching TV with Goofy yesterday. A commercial came on that Jack Black is going to be on Yo Gabba Gabba next month!! I was extremely excited. Then I was extremely sad that I got so excited over a preschool show.

Working hard or Hardly Working?

Supposedly Rod was working in the office today. He even had me deliver them lunch to the office instead of coming in to eat. I did tell Rod that I wanted Goofy to take a nap today. So when I finished my lunch adn I hadn't seen Goofy yet, I went to investigate. Here's how I found them! At least Goofy is getting his nap.

Random Thoughts

I don't have any new pictures to put up here, yet. Sorry. Maybe after this weekend's train show I'll have something. Maybe. So instead of pictures, you're going to get a few random thoughts from me.

Yesterday I was trying to make some sugar cookies for the train show. Trying, because they did not turn out very well, so the family is eating them. (I do have 14 dozen of good cookies to take.)Goofy crawled up to the table while I was rolling and took my roll of waxed paper and started rolling with it. So I set him up with a little board and a little piece of dough of his own. I know--it would have made a cute picture. But do you know how messy my kitchen gets when I'm baking? I don't want THAT posted for all the world to see! Then, every time my oven timer went off, Goofy would yell, "EAT!" I think that comes from Dippy. When he is home and hears the timer, he comes running into the kitchen to see if the food is ready. (Yes, it reminds me a LOT of Killer!)

Speaking of Dippy.....Does anyone remember the TV show Wings? Well, remember the really old guy on there that once rented their plane to go to... somewhere. (I can't remember EVERY detail!) He also hired Antonio as his private driver once. Anyway, this guy asked questions CONSTANTLY! One after the other and sometimes without waiting for an answer to the previous question. That was Dippy this week!! I swear my head almost exploded once! (But then I giggled cause I thought of that old guy.)

Lastly, I think I offended MelanieWelanie last night. I really didn't mean to. And AGAIN...it was Dippy's fault. We were on Melanie's blog and Dippy was asking questions about the pictures. I guess I hadn't told him about LB getting hurt. (and yes, he asked if any of LB's brains leaked out onto the floor! Sorry, LB. Some people, you know?) On her blog, is still the picture from a few weeks ago when the grass was starting to peek through the snow. BUT--I think it snowed again after that. So Dippy saw that and excitedly asked, "They still have snow?!" I really wasn't sure if they did or not. So I wrote on her Facebook wall and said that Dippy wanted to know if they still had snow. She wrote back, "ha ha ha." Both Rod and I thought that meant yes. And when I asked if that was a yes, she called me a name and then signed off. Ooops. There really needs to be a way to put tone of voice into the writing! So I threw some M&M's at her cause who can stay mad when it's raining M&M's?

Hopefully I'll have something more interesting after this weekend.

Goofy Flips

Strange Problem...

...from a strange child.

When we were wrapping his injured fingers in gauze, he would constantly pull the bandage off and throw it on the floor. We would walk around and find little fingers laying all over the place! We were only supposed to clean and wrap them once a day. Instead, we were doing it at least three times a day! Then we go back to the doctor last week and she said we can just use band aids and as his fingers heal up, we can even stop putting the band aids on. Last night, I was putting the medicine on his fingers and I think one is healed up enough not to have a band aid anymore! Goofy should be pleased right? Nope. I put a band aid on the one finger and I tell him that he doesn't need the other wrapped anymore. He got upset! He held up his finger and said "Boo, Mom." (He doesn't call them boo-boos. Just boo.) I told him it wasn't a boo anymore, it was all better. "Please, Mom?" "Pretty please?" There's no ignoring his pretty please. So...both fingers are still bandaged.

No Birthday

It's almost 30 days until Dingy's birthday. We've decided we're not ready for a teenager in the house. Dingy's birthday is being cancelled this year. We'll go straight from April 7 to April 9. There. Problem solved. She'll stay this age forever.

I guess that probably won't work. I have actually agreed to a birthday sleepover for her, too. Hope she's going to help me clean the house for it! Still haven't heard what kind of a cake I am making this year. Hint hint hint Miss Dingy. You might want to tell me soon what you're expecting from me.

I Hate American Idol!

Yep. I said it. I hate American Idol. Know why? It is taking Bones off once again this week!! The one show that we really really really like, and it isn't on cause of stupid American Idol! And last week's episode was a repeat, which I didn't know it was a repeat until Rod and I got our snacks ready and sat down to watch it. Although, I have a feeling that my liking the show may cause it to be cancelled this year. I just found out yesterday that they cancelled Life on Mars. (They did say that the final episode was written as a finale so there may be some answers at least. ) Then, I was reading an article that said the Reaper's chance of renewal is very slim. This is after they have already cut Pushing Daisies. Every show that Rod and I watch together is getting axed! So you might want to tell me the shows you really like, and we WON'T watch them so you'll have a chance at keeping them on the air.

Wow...

And I get told I don't watch MY kid close enough! At least I don't try to feed him to the tigers!

Reaper!!

The Reaper comes back tonight!! We've been waiting FOREVER for the return of this series. However, if you do like it, try to start disconnecting yourself now. I read that its chances for renewal next year are very slim.

Band Aids

The doctor said no more wrapping Goofy's fingers!! We can just use Band Aids now. He would pull the gauze wrapping off his fingers during the day. We would go through the room and find little fingers laying on the floor! Hopefully the Band Aids stay on better!

We took him to the store to pick out his own Band Aids....I didn't think he should have to have boring old brown ones.

He was so excited over picking them out. He carried them through the store and put them up on the counter himself.
