Fall Family Fun Day

Goofy's preschool has two family fun days every year.  One at the beginning of the year and then one for the last day of school.  Yesterday was the fall one.  We had perfect weather for a park day.  It got hot enough to be comfortable to be outside running and playing on the playground, but not too hot to be all yucky.

Widget enjoyed the day, too.

He finally figured out the slide!!  He'll do it all by himself now.

Ryan with Goofy.  We were one of the first ones there and had the playground all to ourselves for a while.
 They were hiding from Widget.

They did plunger painting.  They do this activity at every family fun day.  The kids love this one and there is always a line for it, too!
I liked how the boys worked together to take Goofy's painting over to the drying line.
This is what happens when you plunger paint!  I noticed today that I have red on MY shoes, too!!

Shortly after this, things turned ugly.  Ryan sprayed Goofy so Goofy sprayed Ryan.  Then Mommy said, Enough of this activity!!
A little squirrel.  He's eating a chocolate Teddy Graham.
 A smiling Widget.  :)
Widget didn't even make it out of the park before falling asleep.  He had played so hard.  He slept the whole way home, slept through me carrying him inside, and then slept for another hour!!

Then and Now

A few months ago, I saw this website about recreating childhood photos.  This photographer has actually published a book of photos that she has redone.  She has gone all out having her 'subjects' wear the exact same clothes as the original photos.  We didn't go quite that far.  We just used the same people and the same type of door.  (We couldn't use the original door because Melanie sold it and abandoned us to go live in the Arctic.)

Here's the original picture that was taken in May of 1997.  The kids would have been between 13 and 14 months old.

And here they are this weekend, October of 2011.  They are now 15.  Oh, excuse me, they are 15 AND A HALF!!  (Can't forget that half, yet!)

Messy Room

Does anyone remember in 2008 when I helped Mom clean up her laundry/sewing/storage/computer room? (Click that to be reminded)

Well, here is that same room now.  Looks a lot like the before pictures from back then, huh??

Here's what I think.  I think this is NOT her fault!  I think the room WANTS to be a mess.  This used to be my bedroom.  When it was my bedroom......it looked a lot the same as this.  I got yelled at CONSTANTLY!!  But I don't think it was my fault.  I would clean it, then the ROOM would make ITSELF messy.  And now I have proof cause this is the ONLY room in Mom's house that is not neat!!  So I think I was yelled at A LOT growing up for something that was completely and totally NOT MY FAULT!!!

Dingy Has Issues

I really think Dingy has some serious issues!

Here she is from last year's pumpkin patch/corn maze trip.

This is from this spring's Strawberry festival.
And, yes, she did it again at  the apple orchard!!!

Peace Valley Orchard

Dingy and I took a little road trip out to see the Fodder for Conversation family this weekend.  I normally would have gone by myself, but now I if I do that, we have two unhappy teenagers.

This is what Melanie and I had to see all day!!!  They were this close....ALL DAY!!

Melanie took us to Peace Valley apple orchard.  We bought some.....apples.  :)  We also bought some cider, a pie, some cookies, AND I got the kids' jack-o-lantern pumpkins, too.  The prices were just too good to not buy there.

ANNNNNDDDD.......we got fresh, hot apple dumplings!!!!!!  :)
 See?  All day.

I'll spare you the pic of just them and throw in the one with LB.
The whole group getting ready for the hay ride.
OK.  This time I'll give you the pic of just them cause it is a nice picture.
This is the bee hives.  I thought they had bees to have honey.  I was wrong.  They have bees to pollinate their apple trees!
The trees that are waiting to be picked.
There was even a little petting zoo.  Although, I don't think anyone told the llama where he was cause he wouldn't let anyone pet him.
Melanie and LB with the pony.
 LB climbing.
Them again, with a freaky 4 horned sheep.

Thanks for taking us out Fodder for Conversation Family!!!!!!!

Tired Widget

Widget refused to take his morning nap yesterday.  THEN...he refused his afternoon nap as well!!  He was asleep for the night by about 7 last night!  Dingy had put him to sleep, then handed him off to Rod to hold.  Rod then handed him to Dippy, who sat on the couch with him, then sort of rolled out from under him.  He doesn't seem to care that he's not exactly all on the couch.

T-Ball Picture

Here's Goofy's T-Ball picture.

Did I fool anyone?  That's Dippy.  He played T-Ball one season when he was in preschool.  that was when we found out that he doesn't see moving objects very well.  You know, like baseballs!
We found this picture while looking for the 1st birthdya photos.  Rod and I both saw Goofy in it.  Anyone else see it?

First Birthdays

Sunday's post with Goofy's first birthday made me want to see if I could find all of the kids' first birthday pictures.  Well, I could and I did!!  Sorry if I make y'all hungry for cake.

Dingy's first birthday

She was more interested in the balloons than the cake and candle!
Dippy's first birthday
Goofy's first.  We were camping for his.
Widget's first.  (His pictures were the easiest to find!!)
I also realized that I only made ONE out of those FOUR cakes!!  I would have made Widget's, but he asked for a Wegman's cake.  And really, who could blame him.  I would chose Wegman's over one of mine, too.  :)
Awwwwwww........I included an extra one.   Hee heee....that's me.  :)
Somehow, this got a little out of order.  We jump back to Dippy.

Mismatch Day

Remember Dingy's Wacky Wednesday picture from last week's Spirit Week?
Her preschool had a Spirit Week, too.  They called it Mismatch Day, though.

Soccer Break

I know we have a theme going this week with looking back in time.  But Goofy had a soccer game this weekend!!  It was freezing!!!  First we went to have the soccer pictures taken.  The pictures were inside, but we had to wait outside til they were ready for our team.  Then, they said that because of space, the kids would go in with their coach, but parents had to wait on the other side of the building.  This building was built so that we were waiting in a wind tunnel!!  And not a warm wind tunnel!!!  Then, we had an hour before our game, so Goofy and I went to McDonald's for lunch before heading over.  During the game, the wind wasn't too bad, but it was still VERY cold, and we got rained on a couple of times.  (Very short, cold showers)  So what I am saying is.....I sat out in the cold to take these pictures, so you are going to see these pictures!!  Theme or no theme for the week!!  :)

I have no idea what this picture is.  The ball looks photshopped in.  I don't know if the ball was just kicked BY him or AT him.

Theme Week 2, Day 2

Day 2 of remembering week. I found one of the first posts that was right before Goofy's 2nd birthday. I had posted some pictures of our camping trip we took over Goofy's 1st birthday, so a year before theblog had been created. Dingy would have been 11 and Dippy 9. Please click on the (hopefully) highlighted words. Goofy's first birthday

Theme Week #2

Last week, Dingy had Spirit Week at school and we started off each day with an idea for the blog for that day. I like having something new on the blog everyday, there just isn't always something exciting or noteworthy going on around here. Well, I was looking at the blog last week, and I decided to go back through some old posts. I went all the way back to the beginning of the blog....2008. Before we had teenagers. Before Goofy was really talking. Before there was a Widget! I kept showing videos and pictures to Rod, and he said we need to do a highlight type post. So, this week, we'll be going back and picking out some of the cute, and 'do you remember this' moments. I'm starting on Saturday instead of Monday because....well, because it's my blog and I can!! (And I had to play around to figure out how to repost videos that were never saved to the computer I now use.) Click here and enjoy clip number one. Make sure you have your sound on!!
