Last Day of School?

We weren't sure if today was the last day of school for Goofy or if he missed it last week. So we got ready, but I grabbed a loaf of bread just in case we missed school. (The bread was for the geese as a back up plan.)

Here's his last day of school pic.
And this is when he realized wearing sandals in the morning gets your toes wet.

Really don't like those wet toes.

It appears we missed the last day of school. (Hope I do better for the older two!) We went to feed the geese/ducks instead. Goofy was cool with that.

There were LOTS of babies!!

The geese started crowding us and he stayed right at my feet against me! It's VERY hard to get a good picture from that angle!
The family went over the rocks and down for a swim.

There were about 3 other families of geese on the other side of the bridge, too. I don't think I have ever seen that many babies over there before. I'm almost glad we screwed up the school thing!

Memorial Day Weekend

Rod has been bugging the life out of me to update the blog with pictures from our weekend. So here are a few pictures from last weekend on Lake Kerr.

This is a Dorkfish! We even got Goofy to say 'Dippy is a Dorkfish!'

At least he's a happy Dorkfish.

It's nighttime Dingy! What are the sunglasses for???
This is Dingy's idea of taking Sara for a walk.

And this is everyone's favorite! It was my profile picture on Facebook, but Rod really, really likes it, so I gave it to him.

Beach Jam

Rod took some pictures of his and Dippy's weekend for me.

He's a little hard to see here, but I had to put this in since he rode Grandma's favorite ride!

LOOK!! He actually looks happy!

This was one of the merit badge classes they took.

He rode a roller coaster! (Dippy and I don't really like coasters.) He's beside Adam....look closely.

And another smile!
Holy cow!! Look at all those tents! I am sooooo glad I didn't go. I would NEVER have returned to the right one!

Aftermath

The results of two rainy campouts in one weekend. Luckily, Rod and Dippy were able to finish theirs. They did leave an hour or so before planned and they packed up in the rain. But they had a good trip.

Relay Pictures

OK. This is a little long. Sorry. But it's mostly pictures and not too much reading!

That's the centerpiece our team made on the table in the Survivor tent.

Goofy got to take a 'break' and play in the moon bounce.

Dingy looking so tired. (She barely walked!)

From our 1st move indoors

Goofy FINALLY slept. This was his 'afternoon' nap at 7:30!

Mrs. Self, Dippy's kindergarten teacher, doing her Survivor lap.

The Jazzercise class.

Our poor, wet campsite when we had to abandon ship last night.

This morning's clean up. Goofy and Dingy were still sound asleep, so they stayed home.

And even though he deserted us to go to a 'funner' camp out, I'll throw one of Dippy in anyway.

We're already gathering ideas for next year's team. We want to come up with a new name, have a bigger team and do more fundraising. Anyone who is interested in joining us is welcome!

Relay Update

I tried moblile posting a picture yesterday before opening ceremonies. I had tested the mobile thing on Friday and it worked. However, when I used it from the field, I kept getting an invalid destination error. I don't have the pictures on the computer yet. But here is a brief update for anyone who cares. We were cancelled. :(
We were sent inside the building the first time around 5:30 due to lightning. The Survivor activities were due to begin around 6. We were let outside again and the Survivors were able to do their thing around 7. It was about 8:30 or so when Wanda and I were walking and we noticed a lightning flash. We went straight back to our campsite and began putting everything inside tents and taking down the canopies. This time when they told us to leave, we had kids in wagons and strollers and we were ready. I left Goofy and Dingy and went home to let Sara out. I hadn't even gotten out of my parking spot before the rain began. Luckily, the kids had JUST stepped foot inside when that happened.
When I got back, they were sitting inside the cafeteria with the kids. They had continued on in the auditorium with the luminary activity. Hundreds of luminaries had already been placed around the track. But they had something left to light and there was a slide show. This year they had asked for people to send in pictures of those you were buying luminaries for.
We were expecting to continue walking inside the school until the storm passed. A committee lady stopped and talked to us and she said it has to go 20 minutes with no lightning, and it was only going about 10 minutes. Then another lady came over and said they were calling it. We had about 10 minutes to grab our stuff and leave. On the way out, I talked to Dippy's kindergarten teacher. I mentioned to her that I thought we would just be walking inside. Apparently, the school doesn't allow that.
So we are waiting for the rain to stop. Yes, it rained ALL night. Then we have to go over and get our tents taken down. That's going to be a soggy mess! Luckily, we did have a nice day to walk. It was hot and sunny for the daytime with a nice breeze blowing. I guess this was easing our way into relay. I did 12 hours this year, and then next year I will stay for the entire 24! And, yes, we will have a team next year. Want to join us?

Signing Off the Blog World for Now

I tried posting a few more things than normal this week. I am signing off until after the Relay now. I am planning on having many pictures from it up on Monday. Also, Rod and Dippy are going camping this weekend, so I am hoping I get some pictures from that, too. You never know with Rod what pictures you're going to get. There is a mobile blogging. If I can get that set up today, I may send some relay pics straight to the blog.

There are 1534 people registered for tomorrow's Relay! That is JUST the Relay here in Woodbridge. The Woodbridge Relay has also collected $159,968 in donations, with more to come during the event. A lot of the teams (incuding ours) are running fundraisers from their campsites, and there are at least two different food stands. Thank you to all of you who have donated! I'll have pics up as soon as I can.

And enjoy your weekend!!!! :)

So That Happened

I am having a couple of very very busy days this week. I am trying to get Dippy and Rod all ready and packed for their weekend and at the same time getting everything Dingy, Goofy and I will need for ours. I ran to Wal Mart this morning for camping things, and grabbed a peanut butter cup for Goofy and I to share on the way to our next stop. I was about a mile up the road and I hear, "Help mom." I looked in the rearview mirror and he was holding up two of the messiest hands Ihave ever seen!

We used about 10 napkins. I had a wet nap, but all I found was the empty wrapper of it on the floor! We had to stop at McDonald's to use running water to take care of this one! We were leaving and he poitned at his knees and said, "mess." There's the biggest understatement of the day! i had no idea a peanut butter cup even HAD that much chocolate on it! On the up side...he smells DELICIOUS!!

Mean Fat Joke!!

This weekend, Dippy and Rod are going to a Beach Jam campout in New Jersey, and I am taking the other two kids to the Relay for Life. We all need tents, and Rod isn't allowed to tent with Dippy. I asked my parents if they have a tent I could borrow. My Mom tells me that Dad has one that him and Dippy and Dingy slept in last summer. Rod picked it up for me this weekend and I set it up today just to see if I could and to make sure all the pieces were there. I was proud of myself for figuring it out on my own. Of course Mom can burst anyone's bubble easily! SHE was the one that told me that Dad and TWO of my kids slept in this tent. She looked at the picture and asked me, "Are you going ot fit in there?" GEEZ! I knew I gained a few pounds, but I had no idea I was bigger than my Dad and the two older children all put together!! I guess my diet is starting NOW!

Boogerhead!

Goofy saw me getting ready to leave the offie this morning. He grabbed my shoes and put them on. Then he looked at me and said, "My shoes Mommy, Ha ha!" He didn't even offer to carry me over the gravel!
