Vex Competition

Yesterday was this year's first Vex competition for Dippy.

Waiting for inspection.

Poor robot's arm fell off. Dippy asked me if I saw it and I said no. Then we went through the photos and I actually had a couple pictures of it! Guess I just snap pictures without paying attention. :) Although, in my defense, I was sitting in the very top row of the bleachers and using my massive zoom lens. I love my massive zoom lens.

Holding the broken arm. :(
This team of girls angered me. The two boys are from our school, and the girls were paired with them for this match. The girls never touched their controllers. I am not sure, but they were playing against another team from their school, and I think there was planning going on to make sure the one team finished first, so this team had to lose. They could have at least pretended to try!!

Dippy texting his Mommy. :) He sent me a picture of his robot while they were standing there waiting for their match.

He got a hold of the ring, but couldn't get it on the pole.

Dippy said he thought this guy looked like a guy from NCIS. I think that's the show he said. We only watch it when we go to Grandma's house and are forced to.

Tweak. Tweak.

How We Spent Our Christmas Money

We have needed a new freezer for a loooooong time. The one on the fridge just wasn't cutting it! We had already planned on buying one, but we used our Christmas money and upgraded to a bigger and better model!!! I think this is the first year we have combined our money and worked together. AND we even bought something useful! Hope that doesn't mean we're being mature.

The outside......
The inside......

And the 'soft freeze zone'.
I didn't know what the soft freeze zone was, but Rod explained that is where Grandma keeps her ice cream cause she likes the warm ice cream. I guess I'll put my ice cream on the shelf cause I prefer the cold ice cream.
By the way, when anyone figures out the warm ice cream that Grandma likes, could you explain it to me????

These Poor Kids

It's a good thing these poor kids have ONE parent who can remember birthdays! Last night, we were buying a new freezer. (YAY!) We were just paying for it then, and picking it up today. (double YAY!) So the guy is writing up the paperwork and says, "and you'll pick it tomorrow which is the 6th." Rod looked at me and said, "Widget will be 7 months old tomorrow." ummm...NO. He WAS 7 months old 2 days ago!!! To which he replies, "Who's on the 6th?" Goofy is. Then he actually said, "That's right, Goofy is June 6." Big sigh from me. NOOOO....Goofy is JULY 6!!

At least he uses his Google calendar that we can put these days in and just set them up to automatically appear and remind him from year to year!!

Random Pics

Batman riding his Spiderman bicycle.

Widget would really like to pull those whiskers!

PLEASE????

Our Poconos Trip

It had been snowing the night we went to the Poconos. The next morning, I told Rod to look out and see how much snow there was. He came back and said there was no snow but a herd of deer. I took these from our doorway.

We walked down to the lake.

After I beat Rod TWO TIMES at pool (and I am like, the WORST pool player, well maybe the SECOND worst now!) we tried archery. I let Rod win. :)

After lunch the one day, we saw the deer again.

They crossed right in front of the van. I guess deer everywhere think the same!

There was a buck in the herd, too.

I don't want to ever hear about my driving again from Rod!! This is how our van was parked the entire time we were there!!!

Christmas 2010

The first child to wake up on Christmas morning.
Goofy took the one thing of candy out of his stocking and quit looking. Later in the afternoon, I picked his stocking up and handed him a Skittles filled bank, a tube of M&M's and a boat for the bathtub!

Waiting for presents to be handed out.

Stella's new toy.

Sara all tired out. Too much excitement for her, I guess.

And too much playing for Stella. If you can't tell, Stella is actually sitting on the footstool to my rocking chair.

Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!!

Blog is Back

Thanks to Santa, the blog is back in business!!!!! There was a new laptop under the tree for me!!!! So now I can put my pictures up and keep the blog updated again!!! And no more going out to the cold, cold office. And no more going out in the dark!!!!

Now I just have to figure out HOW to upload my pictures from the camera! (I don't have the card slot on here like I do on the desktop.)

Stay tuned for new pics! :)
