Saturday's Shopping Trip

When we went Christmas shopping last Saturday, we had no luck finding any presents, but the little guys had a lot of fun anyway!  There was a train running in the mall!!  Dingy, Goofy and Widget were with me (Rod and Dippy had wandered off somewhere), so the three of them wanted to ride the train.  After hunting down an ATM (cause nothing is free) they were able to take a nice ride.  Luckily there was NO line for this!  The line to see Santa was LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG.  And no, we didn't wait in it! 

 I took the 'outside picures' and Dingy took pics from inside while they were riding.  Along the way, they saw their Dad and Dippy. 

By the playground, there was this HUUUUUGE bear!!  I wasn't able to get a picture of the while bear, but you can see how huge it was with Goofy standing in front of it. 

Dippy the Carpenter

For Dippy's birthday, he got some tools and a Do-it-Yourself book.  Since then, he has fixed the light switches in the kitchen and dining room, built a new drawer to replace my broken silverware drawer, fixed Dingy's bedroom door so that it actually latches again, put Dingy's closet door back on for her, and fixed the holes in the wall in both of their bedrooms where the door knobs had gone through.  There is stil a long list of things to fix waiting for him, too!  Last night, he started a new project.  He is removing the closet from his room.  I'll try to get a picture of the work in progress later today.  He must have gotten some dust in his eye, because he built himself a pair of goggles. 

Geese?

After Christmas shopping (where we didn't buy ANYTHING!!) we stopped to get gas.  There's a little pond there and I saw weird looking birds so I made Rod go back to look at them.

Rod said they are a kind of geese. 

 And this is what happens when you throw leftover french fries out your window! 

 We thought we might get a few birds inside the car.  Luckily we didn't.

 Dippy opened the back door so Widget could see better.  He just sat there staring the whole time!  We definitely need to make a trip to the zoo....and SOON!

Goofy's House

Goofy made a 'gingerbread' house at school. 

And now, he's in bed with a fever.  :(  Hopefully he gets over whatever he has over the weekend.  He has a Christmas party at school on Monday and then Tuesday his class is going bowling! 

My Christmas Present

Goofy made me a Christmas present in school.  He allowed me to open it last night.  Well, actually, HE opened it for me!!

 The little box in his hand was HIS.  He got that from the music teacher at school.  I guess he didn't care very much about showing off the Mommy present. 

Picture Taking

Today while trying to get a nice picture of just Dippy and Dingy, they were being uncooperative, so I took a video instead of taking a picture.  (They did not know I was filming.)  This is only a small portion of what I have to put up with EVERY TIME I try to get a nice picture.  It's worse when Rod is in there, too, since he doesn't act any better! 

National Christmas Tree

Today we went to DC to see the National Christmas Tree and to try to get a family picture for the Christmas card.  I'm not sure yet if we succeeded or not.  I have a couple that might work, but Dippy isn't smiling.  And the ones he IS smiling, he's looking down and Widget is in the stroller.  So I guess I'll have to stare at them for a little bit longer to see if we're sending cards this year or not. 

Here's the tree.  When we first got there, this is all the closer we could get.  We went a couple of years ago, but apparently then we saw the capitol tree.  And we walked right up to it.  I guess there must be 'hours of operation' or something, because we stood around for a while and then they opened the gates and we did get to go in and see it up close. 

 They had trains set up all around it.

 Goofy really liked watching the trains.

 They had trees from every state.  The ornaments on the trees were made by students in a school in each state.  (the sign will tell you where if you enlarge it.)

 Santa was there!!!  He stopped and talked to Widget but I missed the shot!!!

 We were right across the street from the White House.

 And right by the Washington Monument.

 This picture started out as a picture with Rod and a couple of kids, but everyone kept wandering away from him before I got the picture taken!

 Rod wanted to pinch the top of the monument.

 Then Dingy wanted to lick it!!

 Then more chaos ensued.  (as is the story of our lives here!!)

 When Dingy was 'licking' the monument, Dippy noticed that the smoke looked like it was coming from Dingy's mouth.  So we had to get a good picture of it.

 Rod made me take this picture.  I think THIS should be the Christmas card pic!!!

Dippy's Birthday Party

Today was Dippy's birthday party!!  After playing the 2 games of Laser Tag, we moved on to pizza and cake.  Dingy hit Frosty with the pizza box lid.  :(

 We figured out a way to get 14 candles on Frosty.  I think the real Frosty might have been a little nervous having that much fire so close to him!

 I didn't think he could blow them all out at once since they were on his back to  (Frosty's, not Dippy's back).  But he did it! 

 We relit so that he was smoking his corncob pipe. 

 I only get disgusted looking pictures from Rod anymore.  This is why he wasn't allowed on my blog one day last week.  If this keeps up, and we're able to get a family picture tomorrow, he might be asked to sit out!!

 I have no clue about this one.......
