Empire State Building

Here's a tall building.  I don't know what it is.  Rod said, take a picture, so I took a picture.

 Another big one.  One might be the Chrysler Building.  Or not.  Who knows.

 I liked all the taxis on the bridge.  You'll probably have to click the picture to make it bigger to see them, though.

 When I went to NY last year, the one lady kept yelling at us for walking on the grate thingys.  Then Dingy did the same thing.  When I told her why I was taking the pic, she started jumping up and down....which is exactly what I had done!!  :)

 I'm going to guess that this one might be the Empire State Building.

 Inside the Empire State Building.  Anyone else remember this from Elf??  My kids did not appreciate that I started yelling, "Buddy was here!!!! His Dad works here!!!"

 They tricked us, too.  We were waiting in line to get an elevator from the 80th floor to the 86th floor.  Then the guides said that we could take the stairs up the last 6 flights or wait an hour for the elevator.  So we walked.  I think the 85th floor had FOUR flights of stairs!!!  They didn't trick us on the way down, though.  We waited for that elevator!  They tried to get us to walk from the 80th to the 1st!!  No thank you very much.  We're too dang lazy for that trip!! 

 The view.  Dingy had no problems pushing her way right up to the edge.  Dippy only got in if I made a hole then let him into it.

 The crowd we were in.  Funny, everytime we see this on TV, the shows' characters NEVER have crowds!

 We had to walk a few blocks out of our way so that Rod could see what all the firetrucks were responding to.

New York (pt. 1)

Blogger is finally working again!!!  It wouldn't let me load groups of pictures since we were in NYC.  I'm going to break our trip up into a couple of posts.  Enjoy!

Does this not have TOURIST written ALLLLLLLLL over it??? 

 Times Square!!!!!!  The new year's ball is up there.  Squint!!  :)

 Those bars/gate looking things.....Dippy said he didn't like them in Grand Theft Auto.  Then Dingy turned around and walked into one and decided she didn't like them either.

 The Toys R Us in Times Square!!  There is a Ferris Wheel INSIDE!!! 

 And an Ice Cream store....it's down on the bottom called Scoops R Us.

 We really should have bought this for the Widget.

 See Geoffrey (the giraffe) behind Rod?  You could get your picture taken with him, but THEY took the picture.  You couldn't use your own camera, which means you would have to BUY the picture.  So this was Rod's way of cheating to get his picture with Geoffrey

 Then he made Dingy pose.  He was using his camera on his phone, too.

 The only pictures I could have of Dippy was the ones Rod coerced him into.

 We went into Bubba Gump Shrimp!!!  I was the only one excited about it, so we didn' stay to eat there.  Dingy picked the Hard Rock Cafe.

Read A Thon Chain

March's Read a Thon is over.  They sent home his looong chain.  He read 75 books!!!

 Widget needed to wear it, too.

 Goofy got a new pair of shoes yesterday.  When I asked him if I could have a picture, he asked if I would take a picture of his shoes!  He said he wanted Grandma to see them.

Chocolate Pie

We bought a chocolate pie this week for the kids.  It was BAD.  The chocolate part was not very creamy.  Dippy and I each had a piece, and that was all that was taken out of the pie.  We were planning on leaving home for a week, so I figured we would just throw the pie away.  Dippy asked if he could eat the whipped cream off the top. Normally, that would be a no, but since it was going to be garbage anyway, I told him to eat off whatever he wanted.  Then Widget decided to help.

He had a spoon, but apparently, silverware slows him down!
