Our Friday Drive

Yesterday was a very beautiful day.  The sun was shining and the teperature was around 80 degrees!  This weekend, its supposed to rain each day!  So we took the kids out of school early and went to Skyline Drive to walk trails and see what we could see. 

Dippy found a hole in the ground!  :)

 We saw a family of bears!!!  Luckily, we saw them from the CAR and not from the trail!  (You may need to click the picture to make it bigger for a couple of these.)

 It was a Mommy and two babies.

 I think the Mommy was hungry.  She walked away from the babies.  I think she went just to see if we would get out to pet the babies, cause if we did.....we were LUNCH!!  :)

 See the bugs?

 The bugs were horrible!!! 

 Yes, a ladbug counts as wildlife!!

 They kept turning rocks over to see what they would find.

 In every picture of Widget, all I see is 'Little Man on a Mission'!

 Oh, Look!  Finally a picture where I'm pretty sure he was standing still!  We didn't get many of those.

 Dippy went down another trail.....Widget followed right along!

 Can't understand how he scraped his knee.  He seems to be soooo careful and he only walks!  (y'all picked up on the sarcasm, right?  I mean, you can tell from this that he is RUNNING....as ALWAYS!)

Sunny Day

It's another beautiful day.  The kids have been outside playing a LOT!

 When these two to lunch, this is how they were dressed!

 I decided to not try to put Widget down for a nap today.  I'm going to let him play til he drops.  Then I found this.  Maybe he's going to drop a lot sooner than I thought!!

Poor Snowman :(



Goofy made a snowman measuring stick earlier this winter.  The poor snowman never even got a chance to measure any snow.  I don't think he's going to either.  :(

Another Picnic at the Park

We have Ryan today and it was supposed to be super warm (and it IS!!)  so we decided we should go to the park for a while after school.  I packed us all some sandwiches and drinks and off we went.

 It was very, very warm out today.  The poor kids were very sweaty.

We played for a little over an hour.  It got extremely too hot to stay much longer.  We ran the air conditioner all the way home to cool off.  The kids came in and sat down for about 10 minutes and they're outside playing again!!

Sunday Morning

We made a quick trip to the Winter Farmer's Market this morning.  I think Rod purchased from almost every vendor!  The kids and I were just going because we heard there was a booth selling hot, fresh made doughnuts!  We left there with the doughnuts, (well, some doughnuts....we had to eat them warm!) pumpkin bread, plain homemade bread, pickles, crab cakes, crab chili, and goat milk cheese!

Rod and Dippy went outside to work on the yard some more.  He's trying to get it all cleaned up so we can add a playground this year for the little guys.  :)

 Rod quit smoking a few months ago. I'm thinking he may have lied a little about that!

 Widget is just not too sure about that big tractor.

 Like the nice hole in the siding of the shed?

 And guess who is the ONLY one who has driven the tractor???  So.....no matter what excuses he gives, I think we ALL know who messed up the siding!!

Lost Pic

This pic accidently got deleted from the other post.  Goofy was trying to follow the directions he was given about posing, and we had told him to hold his smile for when Widget was where he was supposed to be!  That kid NEVER moved his foot.  There was a red light that he was told to stand on.  He was also told to put his hands like that.  He didn't move, but Widget sure as heck did!!
